Heatwave Cool

As contradictory as my post title sounds, it is none the less the only thing I have been thinking since Sunday…How can I stay Cool?

Britain (mainly London) has been basking in blue skies without a single cloud, which is a shock to the eyes! Along with this brings temperatures above 30c and a humidity which has brought the inner Monica Gellar in my hair out- not fun!

With the heat here to stay at least for the next week, my aim  is trying to stay as cool as possible at work but still office appropriate. All I really want to do is put my bikini on and sit by the pool, but it is Tuesday and safe to say not going to happen!

I have picked a few great separates to keep your wardrobe functional but also still with a cool edge, and when the weather turns (which it inevitably will) these can all slot seamlessly back in with additional layers.

Nordic Living

This past weekend I had a very different shopping experience to what I would consider the usual. As I am getting married in September I had the pleasure (and fun) of creating my gift registry and spent the whole afternoon on Saturday zapping away with my fiance. It is amazing how much delight ‘virtual’ shopping brings, the rush of spending but with actually no dread of what the bank balance will look like at the end of the day.

Mat and Nat

Mid way through writing another post I had an urge to write about a bag I had seen on someone today.

Mat and Nat is a relatively new brand, well in terms of coverage and popularity recently. I first came across it in a local store pre Christmas and fell in love with the simplicity of the styles and their soft, buttery faux leather.

They are completely animal cruelty free and with the new health crazes and vegan diets everyone is trying out, it’s no wonder this brand is taking off.

Not only this, but the whole collection is so minimal and chic. From the landing page, to the vast range of styles and colours, there is something for everyone.

I can’t help but feel like Mat and Nat is reminiscent of Mansur Gavriel’s simplicity, but on a shoestring- watch this brand closely!

Tip: An understated bag makes any outfit look instantly more put together and luxe.

White Out

We haven’t quite yet had the white christmas we all dream of every year, nor has it felt particularly cold this Winter. Something which could be set to change from next week, but as always will leave us pining for pistes, apes ski and luxuries such as big down coats, fur and chunky knits.

I had considered blogging about these items which are staples in any luxury wardrobe, but I thought I would look instead at Spring/Summer’s next big trends in 2016. Cue, the opposite to fashions staple Black, and lots of transparency- which will also be key this season

Think clean lines and shapes, pure White, great fabrics; sheer, and some killer contemporary accessories. Then you have a outfit worthy of the likes of Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner- that luxe 90’s polished vibe.

Grey Clothes on Grey Days

So as the days grow darker and greyer, we know Winter is fast approaching and colder nights are to come.

One of my favourite things about Winter is layering and my inspiration for dressing is Scandinavian Street Style. I. Love. It. However, I will save that for another post, and instead my next favourite thing at this time of year- Grey.

It is so versatile, whatever the fabric or cut there is so much potential to make a simple outfit into a chic and elevated look. A few of my favourite looks are above and show just how easy it is to wear this colour and not look drab.
