Bells and Whistles

With christmas around the corner, it will be 2017 before you know it. I for one will be making my usual list of new years resolutions and proclaiming that this year will in fact be ‘my year’, however we all know how the story goes.

But, with a new year in tow comes a new wardrobe and new trends. One which I am particularly fond of and will be big for next year is the Bell Sleeve; cue larger than life trumpet sleeves in all shapes and sizes, cropped, long, ruffled, embellished. The only thing that matters is that it flares!

There is quite a lot of choice around currently in the form of shirting and knitwear, which if I was you I would keep an eye on in the sale. Some of my favourites have been in H&M (Sold out already!) and ASOS.

This is one item you need to pick up now, keep it neutral and you will wear it with layers now and all through spring when the temperatures thaw.

Heatwave Cool

As contradictory as my post title sounds, it is none the less the only thing I have been thinking since Sunday…How can I stay Cool?

Britain (mainly London) has been basking in blue skies without a single cloud, which is a shock to the eyes! Along with this brings temperatures above 30c and a humidity which has brought the inner Monica Gellar in my hair out- not fun!

With the heat here to stay at least for the next week, my aim  is trying to stay as cool as possible at work but still office appropriate. All I really want to do is put my bikini on and sit by the pool, but it is Tuesday and safe to say not going to happen!

I have picked a few great separates to keep your wardrobe functional but also still with a cool edge, and when the weather turns (which it inevitably will) these can all slot seamlessly back in with additional layers.

The Silk Road

The Silk Road

Bomber jackets have been the it cover up since SS16 shows started, every blogger and fashion editor was seen in one slung over their shoulders with skirts, dresses, jeans- it is basically the go to jacket of the year. There is an amazing selection available, from simple mono colours, embroidered, floral prints or even a mixture of all of the above.

My favourite look I have seen so far has to be Olivia Palermo (above) in Topshop and as usual she is killing it- Little insider tip; it is still available to buy and is currently trending having been put in the shopping cart 31 times in the past 24 hours… act quick!

From Gucci to Zara, there is no hiding from this trend and it will without a doubt update your whole wardrobe for the rest of the year.
