Gingham Checks

I haven’t posted about trends in a little while, mainly because being in the throes of Winter and then sliding now into the transition of Spring make it firstly a little tricky for dressing, and secondly, I’m not in the mood to shop.

However in saying that, I have been keeping my eyes open for things which might be good buys when the warmer weather hits and one thing which is a constant in every store now is Gingham!

The trend for Gingham this year has been given an update and a much needed twist to make an interesting update to your wardrobe. The beauty of this trend also is that it is timeless (simple black and white palette) and can be worn every season if you buy pieces with good details. Some of my favourites have got ruffle details which is also going to be key for AW17, cut out shoulders… yes this trend is still going strong 1 year on, but tweaked with an asymmetric newness! Peplums, flared sleeves, tie front- the list goes on.

So with the array of choices it is just a case of picking your budget, finding your favourite and purchasing away! Add a top to cropped, frayed hem denim and backless mules for serious street style kudos, a cute dress with sandals and statement earrings or even statement trousers and a basic black tee/cashmere jumper- the options are endless but will ensure you look put together.

My personal picks are below and I hope they inspire you to add this easy trend into your wardrobe.

1. ASYMMETRIC FRILL TOP- TOPSHOP

2.DECONSTRUCTED MIDI SKIRT- ASOS

3.COLD SHOULDER BLOUSE- H&M

4.FRILL TROUSERS- ZARA

5.FLARED DRESS- & OTHER STORIES
