Copenhagen Fashion Week AW17

For many Copenhagen Fashion Week might not be on your radar, either you haven’t heard of it or maybe not interested in it because it isn’t as mainstream as LFW and NYFW. But, I am here to tell you are missing out on it big time.

Bi-Annually CFW takes place showcasing the best of Scandinavian Fashion, it is the largest Nordic event in the region and is growing by the year, including their local trade show CIFF which has over 1,000 designers showcasing their newest collections for the world’s buyers to see. Sadly this year due to scheduling I wasn’t able to make it this time, to great disappointment (but there is always August)! I am however visiting next weekend for buying appointments and inspiration for upcoming new projects… so watch this space in Fall!

A bit of a background on Scandinavian Fashion to make sure you check it out next time; it has been growing for the past 3 years and no sign of slowing down, especially with trends in homeware such as ‘Hygge’ and cooking for ‘The Nordic Kitchen’. Scandinavian Fashion is contemporary but classic, all pieces are what I would call ‘staples & basics’ which have a unique edge or point of difference be it in innovative fabrics, updated silhouettes or the neutral colour palettes- it just works!

To convince you some more, below is some of the best street style looks from CFW17. And yes, you will see that these ‘looks’ and ‘styles’ are what you have been searching for on Pinterest and trying to replicate in your own wardrobe- you just didn’t realise it came from our neighbours in the happy Nordics!
